Can sprains give problems in the future?
>I have found this interesting question: I am only 17 and ive sprained my ankle for about 20 times already in both ankles.
The numerous sprains you experienced in your ankles gives you a much higher chance of respraining them and also decrease overall function such as how fast you can run, jump, quick foot work, or any other activity dealing with your ankles.
I strongly recommend that you consult with your medical doctor who can refer you to a physical therapist. You need to strengthen your ligaments, and muscles. You also need rehabilitation to reprogram your brain on how to gain proprioception (balance) and fine motor control over those ankles. Over time, you’ll regain your ability.
What's it called when the barber basically scrapes the hair off with a small razor instead of cutting?
and what does this do to my hair? btw i like it when they fix my hair this way.
no no it's like a small razor blade (non-electric) and it's like making layers in the hair.
It almost sounds like your talking about a fade??
Are there any laws in regards to how many spinal taps (lumbar punctures) can be given in a certain time frame?
How many in what amount of time? I live in NY but can't seem to find if there are any laws in NY regarding this!
It is not a question of formal legalities, but of what is regarded as good medical practice. Ask a doctor.
What are my options for medical care with no money in Georgia?
I have been under tremendous stress for an extended period. I survived a bout of homelessness & malnourishment. I had to file bankruptcy, I got a job but was underemployed. I was not making enough to pay my bills, just fuel and a weekly lodge.
After the homelessness, I stayed with a friend who lived so far from my daily routine that I had to literally spend hours traveling daily to continue to survive. I somehow contracted a viral infection amd had to make an emergency room visit. This infection hit me pretty hard affecting lungs and bronchial passages. My immune system is so weak that I had to stop working my low paying job just to recupperate. I need to work. I have worked my entire life, still but my head spins constantly, I have a bad headache, & my chest and heart literally ache. I just don't feel quite well yet.
1.Given my conditions & needs what are my options for medical care with no money?
2.Do doctors do pro bono work?
3.Are there free clinics, I can visit?
Grady Hospital in Atlanta accepts indigent patients. You need to go to the emergency room for a chest x-ray. Also, call DFACS in your county to ask for help. Even though you might not be elderly, you are sick and in need of medical attention. If it were me, I'd head to Grady right now, as you probably have a case of pneumonia or some other major ailment that could get worse. They can also advise you as to where to go for follow-up.
How long does a laceration take to heal?
I had an infected abscess on my chest removed on Friday, September 14th, and I was wondering how long such a wound takes to heal? It's about a centimeter long.
The past few days, yellowish material (what I'm guessing is plasma or platelets) have been appearing on the inside of the cut. It's not bleeding, or anything. Also, I am on antibiotics that are supposed to last ten days.
Thanks!
Did you have a "drain" placed. Did the doctor who performed your procedure give you a "follow up" appointment?
Usually when we perform an "I&D" (incision and drainage) of an abscess we put packing in it, we start the patient on antibiotics and have them re-check in two days, remove the drain then have them follow up in about one week if needed.
The abscess should begin to heal rather quickly, it sounds as if it is in the process of healing as long as the "yellowish material" is not foul smelling or appears to be pus.
Call your primary care MD for further information.
What is the mental illness that makes you think that you are a vampire or a witch(referring to wiccan)?
My neighbor thinks that she is a vampire and we’re wondering what illness she has.
Being Wiccan means one follows the religion of Wicca. Religion is not a mental illness.
Being a witch means that you practice witchcraft. Witches are no more ill than psychics or faith healers. You may or may not believe in them, but that doesn’t make them sick.
While I suppose clinical delusion could cause you to believe you’re a vampire, most people who claim to be vampires are perfectly sane. Possibly not totally grounded in reality, but sane. Vampire beliefs also vary widely. Some are patently absurd (undead, can live forever, etc) while others are really no more or less credible than religious beliefs (feeding off of life energy, believing their soul is different from that of humans, etc.)
What do you do if someone fractures their head to the point of bleeding, then goes into shock?
Common first aid suggests elevating the legs if someone goes into shock, to cause blood to go to their head. However, if someone injures their head to the point of bleeding, you're supposed to elevate the head to flow blood away from it, thus slowing the bleeding. If both scenarios occur, a controversial situation occurs. What should be done?
I go online and ask a bunch of people for their opinion while the person hemmorhages and lapses into a coma. Doesn't everybody?
where can i find a little first aid kit box or bag?
I need a box, tin, or bag that looks like it would be used for first aid, meaining its red and white with the little medical cross on it? i need to put some supplies in it for a get well soon present, and I cant find anything.
Here's a little bag you can use:
http://www.sciplus.com/category.cfm/subsection/7
The description says Nurse Purse but it's an empty first aid bag. The price is $2.75.
I love the descriptions for stuff these people use! We get their mail catalog and use it for reading entertainment. Check the site and you'll see what I mean.
Is First Aid Kit available in your house?
I have been in Japan for almost 2 years now and it seems that First Aid Kit is not immediately available anywhere within one's house/apartment. I wonder if YOUR house has one, and isn't it important for a household?
Yes, and I check it regulary to make sure everything is stocked and the antibiotic creams and stuff aren't too old.
My Caruncula lacrimalis hurts?
The part right near the nose started to hurt. Before this my right eye just started to tear at random, and i didn’t know why. Now it’s giving me a pain can’t describe it though.. If you guys need to know what the Caruncula lacrimalis is here’s a picture – http://www.anatomyatlases.org/firstaid/images/eyeA.jpg – it shows what and were it is. If anyone has any idea what’s going on let me know.
Thanks.
Wow, I like that question. I have never had someone tell me their caruncle hurts. A likely cause could be an in-turned lash in this area or just overall dryness with a transferred pain to the caruncle. If you don’t see a lash rubbing your eye funny, the first thing I would try is just artificial tears or rinsing drops for relief. I would also use a warm compress for some relief. I would say if that doesn’t help I would say see an eye doctor, we have microscopes that we can look at the spot and see what’s going on there. Also that nasal corner is where the puncta or tear drainage is- that can get infected or have a lash in it. good luck
