Is there a mental illness that causes one to create an inner fantasy and express it as a “memoir”?
I think there was a mental illness mentioned that is associated with authors of hoaxes and fraudulent memoirs, but I can’t think of it right off the bat. One that would make someone think that they’ve actually done what they’ve written. Any suggestions?
Alzheimer’s did it for Ronald Reagan when he was president. He spoke several times of things that happened to him when he was in the Army.
Problem: The only military he was in was the Army Reserve (Cavalry) before WW II, he never saw any action, and his only “active duty” was as an actor making training films. His poor eyesight prevented any active duty of any kind.
However, in his movies he often played a soldier, and it was these fictional war memories that he remembered and spoke of as if they were real memories of real war-time action. Fortunately, by this time his wife, Nancy, was already pretty much running the country for him.
What is the long term prognosis of tibial plateau fractures?
18 months after the accident, I still have pain and swelling on a regular basis. Will it ever change?
Hard to say without an xray and advance imaging studies to figure out how serious it is. Overall, it takes a few years for a fracture to heal, takes even a bit longer in areas of weight bearing like a tibial plateau. The best thing you can do for it right now is to not to do anything very active like running/jogging on it. Use a cold pack (never heat) to control the swelling — 20 mins on, and 40 mins off, repeat as necessary –, and do swimming for rehabilitation.

Does the white medical tape from a first-aid kit help get rid of a plantars wart like duct tape?
I have a medium sized plantars wart RIGHT on my heel. It hurts SOOO bad when I walk. I have my birthday party tommorow, which is a "dressed-up" party and I can't walk in high heels with this! I have white medical tape from a first-aid kit over it, just like duct tape. Would this still work? It sure sticks on better. I really don't know what to do before tommorow! Please help! Any solutions?
Freezing it with a dermatologist is best, duct tape works for some on common warts not plantar warts. Go and buy a foam heel insert from the drugstore and cut out an area where the wart is so when you wear shoes there is no pressure on the wart itself. sometimes they sell the inserts with the heel cut out for heel spurs. Then make an appt for a dermatologist. Cuting them out causes more.
In EMS when are you really real?
when in Emergency medical services can you really say you are real? is it after that first firstaid course? or after your first save a life expirience? when you get that first measley little pay check? or when your told to be happy you can serve… and your not getting a check…(forced volunteers) or when you answer your first real mci on your vol. pager? when you get your name in the paper? when you graduate EMT? when you come back to the ambulance bay covered in emmisis and excrament and blood? when are you really considered real?
The day I stepped onto the ambulance, with my shiny new gold patch (paramedic) and a brand new Basic partner, and I realized I was the most knowledgable and experienced person on that ambulance that day. That was scary, but that made it real for me.
The day I had to watch an elderly woman die in my ambulance (because she had a DNR) and I watched her HR fade from 60 to 30 to 0, and I had to physically restrain my partner from starting resuscitation. That made it real, too.
The day I took a patient who was frightened and in pain, and I made her comfortable, calmed her down, and by the end of the transport, she was laughing with me. That made it real, too.
It's not one monumental experience; it's the little ones that turn you from a brand new EMT into an experienced and confident one. EMS is a hard profession; your coworkers generally treat you like poo until they realize that you won't quit when things get tough. Over time, though, both you and your coworkers realize you are here to stay, and that's when you are an "real" EMT.
What can I use to help heal chemical burns and get rid of itching?
I have, what I think is, chemical burns on my arms. I won't be able to see the doctor for a couple of weeks. What is the best over the counter remedy to help speed the healing process and get rid of the itching?
If you have and no doubt would have and what they have recommended isn't good enough, then;
After my skin grafts took, I wore pressure bandages for roughly a year to stop the growing scar tissue. And just to keep it compressed and not blown out.
Even the new vitamin 'E' cream (of course if it is indeed) that's perfect
Best of luck my friend.
Any ways how I can grow my nails and get rid of scabs and bruises in two days?
Ok going away to lanzerote wiv a few of my mates in two days.I want to grow my nails coz they are sooo tiny and get rid of these scabs and bruises I have on my legs what I got from P.E.Any good ideas?
push back your cuticles. stick something underneath your nail bed to loosen it from the tip of your finger slightly (not so much that you make it bleed).
scabs and bruises…go tanning. The scabs will go away faster and the bruises will blend in with the tan.

How to reduce the size of mosquito bites?
I am allergic to mosquito bites i think and one bit me right near my eye. Now i have this huge eye and i can barely open it. Is there a way that i can make it go away or at least make it smaller? Id prefer home remedies.
If you’re truly allergic, the best solution is an antihistamine like Benadryl. That should reduce the reaction. With an allergy that makes you swell up like that, you’re going to need to take medicine for it. Home remedies could make it less itchy or reduce a little of the swelling, but to really make the allergic reaction go down you need an antihistamine.

No, only if you are also allergic to dogs. They are unrelated.
