can you have allergic reactions to oxygen masks?
Is there such a thing as having a allergic reaction to an oxygen mask used during surgery? Ever since my surgery 3 days ago my throat and inside top of my mouth burns and is red.
You could either have an allergy to the plastic/latex materials used in the tubing, or it could just be raw from the friction of the tube when it was placed.
An allergy might also give you the feeling of closing up. I was intabated about two months ago for an anaphlaytic reaction for three days and I was told that the body needs time to heal.

Yes you can, but you probably had an E.T. tube put down your throat during the surgery. even if it was just a mask, you could be alergic to the plastic.
