Do newborns get allergic reactions to pets?
I have a 4 day old baby girl. My husband is allergic to cats and dogs to where he sneezes and itches and gets blotchy. We would like to go to my parents house but they have 2 cats and 2 dogs. Can my baby possibly get an allergic reaction? Should I keep her away from my parents house?
Actually exposing newborns to animals helps build up their immune system so they are less likely to have severe allergies to animals. Yes they can sneeze at first usually because of pet dander not the pet itself but most grow out of it. It is perfectly safe to have a newborn around animals.

yes, it is good to keep you're baby away from certain things they could be allergic to until they are about 6 months because this is when their immune system is stronger. Congratulations on the new baby and I hope you can resolve this problem
