Does having prior broken bones disqualify you from joining a branch of the military?

I broke my arm almost 2 years ago playing football. During surgery the doctor added a plate and 6 screws into my bone helping it stay stable. I have full range of motion and full strength in the arm still, the only bad thing is a little sensitivity around the scar area. Now the metal is removeable it doesn't need to stay in there permanently, but I'de like to know if I can still join the military. Any insight would be great. Thanks!

as long as it works ok, itll be fine, i fractured my radius and ulna ( the bones going to the wrist ) twice before i went in

  2. You might have to have a waiver for the plate and screws, but my husband had a compound fracture when he was a boy and the Air Force took him as a young man with no waiver.

  6. It isn't disqualifying as long as the fracture has healed, you don't have any symptoms (e.g. pain), it doesn't have a limitation on your range of motion and the retained hardware is not prone to displacement or interferes with the wearing of military equipment. The source below is the medical standard.
