What over the counter pain reliever would you recommend for broken bones?

I broke a toe and part of my foot on Monday. I have vicodin for the pain, but I had to come back to work today so I can't take it. What do people use for pain relief for broken bones while at work/driving a car, etc. I normally take Alleve for headaches. Any ideas?

I would suggest a combination of 400mg of ibuprofen and 500mg of tylenol. When taking the ibuprofen do not take the aleve as it can cause a greater risk for stomach bleed and also be careful with the amount of tylenol and do not exceed 4000mg in a 24 hr period. I have found that the above combination works as well as prescription pain killers. I hope this helps.

  4. Wrap the area with stretchy binding, wear double socks and sandals instead of shoes.
Dont rely on medication. The pain is determined by the engineering of your body weight distribution on the injured area and the stress it causes. Try to get off your feet, dont stand so much.
