What causes the pain associated with bruises?
I know that bruises are just from busted blood vessels under the skin but why does it hurt?
Swelling which causes pressure on the nerves. That's why some bruses cause a lump.

The nerve ending. You have nerve ends running throughout your body. The nerves send a message to your brain that there is damaged tissue. Your brain then tells you Ouch!!!!!
