How long does it take for broken bones to heal?
Just wondering in case your hand’s bone is broken or something.
It takes long to heal then 2 break.
How did they fix broken bones in the old days?
In the old days, they would always get into fights and what not. If they broke bones, how, if they could or did, would they fix them?
Pulled them back into place and then tied a stick on them.All of this was done without pain killers.Most people passed out when getting the bone put back into place.

For a clean break, you should have the cast for 4-6 weeks.

It actually healed while they were casting him. i had one on my ankle for 6 weeks and it didn't quite heal right. I had one on my wrist and took it off a week early, it's fine. it's all a matter of your healing ability. Basically… the best answer, though…
However long the doctor says. But for a 'not serious' fracture, with a 'typical cast', you're probably lookin at 6 weeks.

Is it true that after you have broken a bone that when the weather is bad your bones will act up??
I broke my ankle 2 months ago in two spots and needed plates and screws put in and today with the colder and rainy weather it is bothering me a lot…I am still in the boot (air cast) for 2 more weeks and I am just putting pressure on it now so that could be it too!
oh yeah! You can feel before it rains and when it gets cold ouch!
Get you a good heat pad for cold winter nights
and watch the weather before weather change or rain start some medicine otc

What over the counter pain reliever would you recommend for broken bones?
I broke a toe and part of my foot on Monday. I have vicodin for the pain, but I had to come back to work today so I can't take it. What do people use for pain relief for broken bones while at work/driving a car, etc. I normally take Alleve for headaches. Any ideas?
I would suggest a combination of 400mg of ibuprofen and 500mg of tylenol. When taking the ibuprofen do not take the aleve as it can cause a greater risk for stomach bleed and also be careful with the amount of tylenol and do not exceed 4000mg in a 24 hr period. I have found that the above combination works as well as prescription pain killers. I hope this helps.
