What should I keep in a first-aid kit for my car?

I am going away and I was wondering if anyone new what I should keep in a first-aid kit.

I am going camping.

Make sure you have one or two of those emergency rescue blankets that look like tinfoil, they keep your body heat in and are packaged into little compact squares… Keep one in the glove box and one in the trunk – keep one INSIDE the car in case you ever get trapped inside you car after an accident in a ditch or ravine or something. You should also keep a flashlight, extra batteries, an emergency auto glass window breaking tool with seat-belt cutter if you ever end up in the water in your car ( flash flood – or drive into a lake or river ) you will not be able to open your car door until the car is completely submerged and the pressure equals out and electric roll down windows won't work and it is hard as hell to break window glass without one of these tools. Also pack a few protein bars and a jug of distilled water. Flares, a whistle, be sure and bring along extra meds if you are on any… and like the woman above me posted just a regular first aid kit… Be sure it has some Neosporin in it and rubbing alcohol, and be sure and bring some benadryl pills in case you have an unexpected allergic reaction. Cell phone and charger and/or spare batteries and waterproof matches and a lighter. It's also a good idea to keep a simple cheap wool skull cap or ski mask and extra wool socks and gloves in the car ( you lose most of your body heat from the top of your head ) And Nose Toes and Fingers are the first things to go with frostbite Best of luck

Where do i buy Medium sized first aid kit at a lower price?

Where in NYC can I find this kind of store.
I visited the American Red Cross store and they sell things kinda expensive.

Make your own; just get the stuff at the Dollar Store and put it in a shoebox. Think of anything that could happen and buy the stuff you would need to take care of it .
Band Aids; Peroxide; Alchohol; Liquid Band Aids. Ear Drops. Nose Drops; Cotton balls; Guaze bandages; Adhesive tape; and an Ace Bandage. and BTW always keeps nail polish remover on hand if you tend to use Super Glue.

What goes in a standard first aid kit?

Does anyone know what goes into a standard, generic, first aid kit? I need to refill the one at work- and they basically picked the wrong man for the job. Ideas?
I gave them the list of stuff you guys mentioned- I work at a hotel and the General Manager almost had a heart attack! Apparently, I was a lot more prepared then they had anticipated. At least of anyone DOES have a heart attack, I'll have enough supplies ready!

Hard to come up with specifics. Where do you work? You can also buy a prefilled kit, but they are expensive and not very practicle. Some companies will sell the kit and train you on how to use the stuff, but then they keep coming back and replacing stuff and fleecing the companies they service. I was approached by a company to work for them and refused to do it. Try to avoid these people.

Latex free protective gloves
Pocket mask for CPR
5-10 4×4 or 3×3 gauze pads
a couple of rolls of 3 in gauze
a couple rolls 1in gauze
1 in tape
Bandaids
Betadine scrub (Small bottle)
Neosporin ointment
small bottle of saline for irrigation of eyes
tweezers / scissors / safety pins
a triangular bandage
an emergency foil blanket
1-2 instant cold packs

If you have specifics about your job and what kind of injuries you've had in the past you can email me for more
