What's it called when the barber basically scrapes the hair off with a small razor instead of cutting?

and what does this do to my hair? btw i like it when they fix my hair this way.
no no it's like a small razor blade (non-electric) and it's like making layers in the hair.

It almost sounds like your talking about a fade??

Just like the top layer of skin gone. How do i get it to heal quickly? Do things like neosporin help with this?

some cream that kills germs (non-sting is possible)

and try not to touch it or let anything dirty touch it, also put a bandage on.

dont scratch it when its becoming a scab.

Is it normal for cuts or deep scrapes to constantly ooze a yellowish fluid that hardens?

Just a few of my sister's bicycle wounds are oozing a yellow fluid that eventually hardens and makes the bandages stick to her skin (making them painful to take off so she can change them). The only other time I've seen this was recently on a mosquito bite on my ankle. My parents say it's normal, but is it?

Does it look red & tender around the area, any red lines/streak running up the limb, and does your sister feel unwell with a fever or chills and is the yellow stuff creamy white, or a clear yellow fluid?

If the yellow stuff is creamy and she has any swelling, tenderness and a red line/streak going up the limb or a fever, she needs to be assessed by a doctor.

If the dressing has stuck to the wound, try soaking it off in warm salty water, pat it dry and apply a non-stick dressing, this will prevent re-opening the wound, every time the dressing is changed, which can cause an infection.

Does Maderma work on scars from scrapes, or should I use skin lightnening cream?

I had a scrap about the size of a quarter from a car accident, and now It’s scared. I’ve been using Maderma for months and nothing had changed. Should I try skin lightning cream instead to try to lightened it to look less noticeable?

Maderma has got to be the slowest acting thing ever, I just gave up on it. Skin lightening cream would discolor the entire area, not just a scar. Time heals, trust me. If you want, use a glycolic wash or moisturizer on it and the skin will just turn over in time. I had a huge gash on my face and you can’t even see it now.

How do I prevent scarring from scrapes on my face?

Last night I went out with some friends and had a minor incident. One of my friends ran up behind me to hug me, but we both went tumbling down to the pavement. While she didn’t get any injuries, I bit through my lip and scraped the side of my face and part of my nose.

What is the best way to prevent scarring in this area?

Keep it moist until it heals. Constant neosporin + band aid (if possible), even petroleum jelly would be okay. Just don’t let it dry out.

How do you know when scrapes are infected?

I'm a 16 year old female who plays softball every weekend. This past weekend I was playing softball and I was diving back into fisrt when I scraped the top of my foot through my sock. It is hurting when ever I move my foot. I also have redness around the scrape. Does this mean that it is infected? Please help.

Just keep it clean & keep an eye on it. It shouldn't feel warmer than your non-injured skin. Also, watch for pus or oozing of anything. Basically, keep it clean (warm, soapy water a couple of times a day, clean socks). Keep your shoes & socks off whenever you're sitting around the house & it'll heal quicker.
If you do start feeling excessive warmth on or around it, or see any oozing, get to your doctor!
Feel better, I think you'll live!

what plants can heal scrapes and scratches?

I have to do this for a school project. I have to interview my grandma but she is on vacation. So can you help me? Thanks!

I know I use Aloe for scrapes
Also, Tea tree oil is a good antiseptic/ natural antibiotic-antifungal
Garlic applied to a deep cut is good (but it stings). It has great antibiotic/antifugal properties too
Witch Hazel is great for scrapes too (very soothing) (although I am not sure where it comes from.. )
Willow bark is chewed (bark isn't ingested, just the 'juice' from it) to deal with any pain and inflammation (it is a natural source of salicylic acid which is found in asprin)

Here are some others:

What can I use to cover up scrapes and scratches on red glasses?

The glasses shop won't do it. I was thinking nail polish, but if anyone has a better idea with a kind of stain or dye, that would be great. They are totally worn on the ends of the arms from being folded up in a drawer which they must have scraped on. The are worth a grand, so I won't buy new ones. Just want to make these look better.

red nail polish or a red sharpie.

Is there a cleaner or solution I can use to get rid of scrapes or scratches on car wheels?

The wheels are metal, Motegi wheels, and my girl friend was parallel parking and her wheels just scraped right on the curb so is there a cleaner or solution to take out the scrapes and scratches from Metal Rims on a car?

No, sorry there is no polish, cleaner or solution that can remove curb rash. The wheels could be repainted, or re-chromed, or refinished with the use of a power grinder. That is expensive work and needs professional treatment. If you just want to clean and brighten your metal rims, you can try NEVER DULL which is a special wadding for removing grit and grime from almost any metal surface.
