I fractured my foot in a -t- pattern across the top. I saw emergancy care and was told the foot needed casted, there was a bone chipped off on the side also. I made appt with orthopedic and he put me in an air cast & wanted me to come back and be sure nothing moved or changed before attempting a cast. I came back and he said it had not changed and we would go with the air cast. I continued to do follow ups. The one week I came it had been 6 weeks he told me since it still hurt to continue with air cast. If it still hurt after 8 weeks we would do mri to check for torn ligaments. I then called a week later and said nothing had changed why wait to find out if I had a torn ligament?? Check on this now right??.
I went for mri, i made an appointment for the following week to review with dr..
The office called me and moved my appointment up. I guess underneith the fractures were more small fractures. I also have an engrown bone ( i knew and he never ever mentioned this before) that was developing arthritis due to no cartilage and this could be also causing me pain. I need theropy to strengthen this and a recommendation of orthotic shoes possibly or a cane to use until this is strong again. I feel he is a poor Dr. and has not done his job with myself.
