What's the best way for infielders to not get scrapes on their knees?

I have a sliding pad but it always slips downs and my knee makes contact with the ground. I rip open the same scrapes a lot.

I never found anything that completely kept me from getting strawberries and scrapes. That is just part of the game. I guess you could wear some of those under armor long pants under your baseball pants. They didn't have those when I was playing so I can't say how good it would work. I wore sliding pants, and sometimes if I had a particularly painful burn or scrape I would put a bandaid on it and then tape around my leg. I used to go through alot of that nu skin stuff too, don't know if they even make that now or not. Worked a litle bit. Scrapes, bruises and burns are just badges of honor for infielders anyway. Embrace them. Or you could be like Ryne Sanberg and be so good that you don't have to lay out to get to balls. I never quite figured that one out though ;)

  2. Increase your lateral quickness so you don't have to get on the ground as much. That would help you some.

  10. Man up and deal with the scapes, cuts and bruises. It sounds like you play the game hard, so you should look at the blood, sweat and scars as glory wounds.
