Ankle sprains? How long did it take to recover?
I spraned my ankle doing step aerobics 2 months ago. I am getting tired of waiting on it to heal. Just wondering how long everyone else's took.
Under the care of a doctor, and currently doing physical therapy. They both tell me to be patient that it could be a while.
mine oct 19 2005, took all winter to heal up it ………..before it got better can't remember exactly (?end of January? or February?)………..still have nice fatter anke than before and now I have developed a wonderful heel spur also.
I remember trying to take off the wrap and it was cold out and my foot froze……So I kept it on ……….I was off work at Christmas and tried to keep the wrap off until I went back to work in January but I could only keep it unwapped a few hours at a time……..I had to ween my self off the wrap

Depends on the severity of the sprain, the level of exercise you are doing etc. Do you wrap it for support during the day? Did you go to a doctor? Did you go to physical therapy? YOu need to follow up and ot ask these questions on Yahoo!

I once had a sprained ankle that was taking forever to heal. I got impatient and started bike riding. The gentle rotations got my ankle back to normal in no time! So, on your bike!

Do what FlaChic said…it's all correct!! Try to stay off it as much as possible. This can become a lifelong injury. My mom sprained her ankle in college on a ski trip, and it still bothers her. I broke my ankle last fall and it healed wrong (went to orthopedic surgeon and everything) and it still bothers me a lot. Definitely go to a doctor and until then try to keep weight off of it. Good luck.

My daughter really messed hers up 4th of July weekend…it still looks bad, and she doesn't have all of her flexibility back, but she is able to walk, run, and lightly jump on it.
Did you see a doc? I tore a ligament in my ankle and it took darn near three months to get most of my use back. Do light stretches and try to use it some each day, to gain strength. If it tends to swell still, elevate it in the evenings (above the heart) and use cold compresses or soak in epsom salts (yeah, they really do help).
Good luck, sugar.

How I got mine……….we went to a concert and the were 3 steps where we sat and I forgot about the steps and walked right off of the top step and almost knocked my self out; and twisted my ankle and it burned really bad and swelled up like a watermelon.
