What is wrong with my dog?

my dog (about a year and a half) wont put any wieght on her front leg. this is the third time this has happened. both other times i figured it was just a sprain or something and both times she has returned to normal 2 or 3 days (each time has been seperated by several months). im i right to think this or is there something more going on here?
p.s. she is very active….running, jumping, ect.
